Dawn M. Roy
LCSW

I’m Dawn M. Roy, LCSW, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of experience in mental health, trauma, and addiction counseling. I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University in 1992, and I’m an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS). In addition, I’m a certified Mental Health First Aid instructor and an EMDR Certified Therapist. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working in various settings, including a leading mental health agency in Milford, CT, where I served as the Coordinator for Adolescent Addiction and Prevention Services for 16 years.

I specialize in trauma therapy, addiction counseling, and working with first responders. My experience with trauma-informed care, particularly using EMDR, allows me to offer targeted treatment for individuals navigating the emotional aftermath of traumatic experiences. I’ve built trust with public safety professionals, providing a safe space for them to heal and process their experiences. Alongside my clinical work, I’m passionate about mental health education and instruct Mental Health First Aid courses, covering topics for adults, youth, public safety, fire/EMS, and veterans. I’m also an active member of the Fairfield County Trauma Response Team and serve as an adjunct faculty member at Housatonic Community College. My goal is to provide a compassionate, comprehensive approach to support my clients through their healing journeys.
